BACHMAIR WEISSACH HOTEL BAVARIA

Dramatic scenery...pretty gardens, a lovely lake, nearby mountains, and a tranquil atmosphere await guests at Hotel Bachmair Weissach. Do yourself some good and check into this gorgeous German retreat.

Let’s go for an adventure to one of Bavaria’s beautiful countryside and stay in an impeccable hotel that offers a one-of-a-kind retreat. A 50-minute train ride from Bahnhofplatz Munich which will take you to the popular Lake Tegernsee, equally popular in summer as winter, the lake is a favorite for locals, Munich residents and tourists alike.

Lake Tegernsee is one of the most popular day-trip destinations from Munich as well as being a holiday location in its own right. The surrounding villages are originally used as a summer residence and the fact that the nobility spent time at the lake helped to make tourism fashionable (apparent for its plenty of fashion boutiques). They also attracted artists and writers hoping for patronage, which increased the prestige of the resorts around the lake.

During the town’s booming tourism, in 1862 Bachmair Weissach Hotel began its hospitality service which at first was mainly food and beverage business but eventually they opened its door for accommodation. Since Monsieur Korbinian Kohler took over, run the hotel and made sure the balance of traditional and modern elements are present, it has become one of the prime hotel in Bavaria.

There are 146 rooms and suites (6 categories) with Bavarian accents and fantastic view of the mountains, which all come with a complimentary minibar, refilled daily. Choose from a deluxe double room with queen size beds (25 sqm), a 60sqm classic suite with balcony and your very own walk-in closet (featuring a balcony or terrace overlooking the mountains) or the ultimate Bachmair Weissach suite with 3 bedrooms, a spacious living and dining room, a rooftop terrace as well as your own open fireplace and a private spa.

The furniture (which is mostly locally produced) made of oiled solid oak a Bavarian native wood. The fabrications and small details are carefully curated as well- the gold-gray curtains of reed leashes, a tradition – fabric from which the Tegernseer Trachtenjanker are made, symbolizes the peasant life of the region. The lime green velvet application – on the bedspreads, curtains and lampshades on the other hand, the distinguished side of the region, like the royal Tegernsee Lock.

Every room truly gave a feeling of  local Bavarian home. One thing to noticed is it’s spacious size of the room with an access to a private terrace. As soon as you enter the room you feel comfortable, very homey – by the way, this is one of the most important criteria I use to recommend a hotel.

On the lower floor is a lovely newly opened Japanese-inspired Mizu Onsen Spa, where you can enjoy a sauna, steam bath, quiet zone and cosmetic spa. Mizu Onsen Spa is one of the hotel’s pride, for which various pools to choose from; such as heated outdoor saltwater pool with beautiful and serene mountain views, to a 90 degrees hot sauna and steam room, and range of treatments that will surely fill your relaxation agenda.

The Japanese expression “Mizu” translates to both asthonishment and cold water, perfectly combining the cold, mineral rich waters of the Tegernsee lake with the unique spa concept. “Onsen” translates to hot springs which you’ll find in different variations within Germany’s first Japanese-inspired spa.

...

Once you have heated up in the dry sauna, dare to jump into their natural outdoor pool which is filled with clear, ice-cold water from the river flowing through the serene hotel grounds.

The hotel also features fitness area that has top-of-the-line equipment perfect for your exercise needs, also they offer yoga classes and options of sport program with well-trained trainers.

Every morning, a buffet of sumptous regional and vegan breakfast is served. A meal not to be miss!

GASTHOF ZUR WEISSACH- The hotel’s restaurant is popular among locals and guests alike, offering a cosy and refined dining experience in traditional Bavarian interiors. Whether you choose their 4-course menu or prefer to pick your own menu favorites, it’s a German culinary experience featuring Bavarian signature meals you won’t forget. Book a table HERE.

MIZU SUSHI BAR- Combining traditional wooden interiors with modern Japanese elements, it’s an experience you cannot miss at Tegernsee!
